Charlotte Bisley

Managing Director

Charlotte is a social development specialist with more than 20 years professional experience in social development and communications, working with businesses, governments and communities.

Charlotte has worked in over 30 countries across Asia, Africa, Europe, North America and the Pacific and for public and private sector organisations in sectors including: international trade and development; energy; agriculture; information technology; financial services; HIV/AIDS; and natural resource management.

Charlotte has provided social performance advisory services to international financial institutions (IFIs), extractives companies and large-scale infrastructure projects regarding their investments in the Asia-Pacific, Europe and Africa.

She is an Extractives Specialist on World Bank/UN Women and UNDP Expert Rosters and has provided social impact advisory services to the Governments of Myanmar and Afghanistan. She has worked in alignment with the IFC Performance Standards on Social and Environmental Sustainability, World Bank Group Social Safeguard policies, European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) Environmental and Social Policy, and Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) Social Safeguards. In addition, she has worked in alignment with the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights, and the Voluntary Principles on Security and Human Rights (VPSHR).

Charlotte has a Master of Social Sciences (International Development) from RMIT University and a Bachelor of Arts in Communications (Organisational Communication) from Charles Sturt University – Mitchell. She also has a Graduate Certificate in Entrepreneurship and Innovation from Swinburne University of Technology. Further to this, she has studied international politics, business and communications at Oregon State University and monitoring and evaluation in peace building contexts at the American University in Washington D.C, United States. She has strong French language skills and in 2014 completed a Diplôme de français professionnel (DFP) Affaires B2.

Charlotte is an Integrated Management Systems Lead Auditor and is Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) 4 Certified. She is a Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD), International Association for Impact Assessment (IAIA) and International Association for Public Participation (IAP2).

Andrea Vickery

Andrea provides corporate social responsibility advice to extractive industry companies. She has worked internationally for over 15 years as a labour lawyer, human rights and social performance advisor on a number of major oil and gas projects.

Andrea worked in the Republic of Georgia as a corporate responsibility adviser focusing on human rights issues on the Baku-Tblisi-Ceyhan (BTC) and South Caucasus Pipeline (SCP) project including implementation of the Voluntary Principles on Security and Human Rights (VPSHR).

Andrea then participated in the security and human rights assessment for the Tout project in Algeria and also prepared a range of social policies and procedures for the project. For the Papua New Guinea Liquefied Natural Gas (PNGLNG) project, Andrea was involved in preparing the social management plans necessary for financing. She subsequently co-ordinated the internal interface between the Social Economic and Land and Community Affairs (SELCA) team and the Project Management teams. On the Queensland Curtis Liquefied Natural Gas (QCLNG) project, Andrea established and implemented systems and policies for managing the social performance of construction contractors. Recently Andrea has prepared social performance documentation related to contractor management for another large-scale international LNG project.

Andrea has worked with a range of companies including BG Group, ExxonMobil, Gaz de France, BP, English Welsh and Scottish Railways, the Bank of Queensland and Freehills. She has experience working in accordance with the IFC Performance Standards; the UN Declaration of Human Rights and its covenants and conventions; various domestic labour laws (Australia, UK, Georgia, Algeria, PNG, Tanzania); and the VPSHR.

Andrea has a Bachelor of Laws-Economics from James Cook University, Australia, and Graduate Diplomas in Legal Practice and Industrial Relations from Queensland University of Technology. She was admitted as a lawyer in Australia in 1999.

Samantha Blake

Samantha has eight years professional experience in business analysis and management, financial services and engineering, and a deep interest in the analysis and design of macro-level sustainability solutions.

Samantha worked as a geotechnical engineer with GHD-Longmac before moving into the financial services sector where she worked for the New South Wales (NSW) Treasury Corporation (TCorp) as a quantitative analyst and then Goldman Sachs JBWere as a risk analyst and then business manager.

She has a Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) Honours from the University of Sydney, Graduate Diploma in Applied Finance and Investment from the Securities Institute of Australia and Graduate Certificate in Sustainability from the University of the Sunshine Coast.
